Joanna began her career as a criminal defense attorney before discovering her true passion as an educator. After completing her Masters in Education, Joanna taught at several elementary schools in Boston. Since moving to New York, Joanna has developed curricula to promote disability awareness for elementary school students and help parents navigate the special education process.

Joanna initially became involved with Room to Grow in Boston. She volunteered in many capacities, including co-chairing events, organizing clothing drives, and soliciting community involvement. She is honored to continue being an advocate for Room to Grow by serving on the New York Leadership Board.

Joanna received her J.D. from the University of Toronto and her M.Ed. from Boston College. She lives in Westchester County, NY, with her husband, Yaron, and their three children: Joshua, Adam, and Leora.
