This Privacy Policy explains circumstances in which Room to Grow National, Inc. (“Room to Grow” or “we”) collects personal information (such as full name, address, e-mail address, telephone number and/or other identifiable information that you may share with us) from you, and how we use that information. This policy applies to our website (the “site”) available at www.roomtogrow.org. For purposes of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Room to Grow is the data controller.
By using the site, you accept this Privacy Policy, which may be updated at any time. Amendments and updates will be effective upon our posting a notice of the update or amendment on this page. Your continued use of the site or provision of information to us after such notice has been posted constitutes your acceptance of the Privacy Policy as revised.
Collection and Use of Information
Personal Information
Room to Grow only collects personal information about you during your visit to this site when you voluntarily provide it to us, through the form available by clicking on “Join Our Mailing List” (the “sign-up form”), or through online donations (described below). The information provided to join our mailing list may include your name, address, and email, and may be used to provide you with Room to Grow-related mailings, e-mail newsletters, invitations, or for other similar Room to Grow purposes.
Online Donations
You may make an online donation to us, by clicking on the “Donate New York” and “Donate Boston” buttons on the site, through www.classy.org (“Classy”). Please review the privacy policy of Classy, which governs its collection of personal information from you when you make a donation to us through Classy’s site. Classy provides us with your personal information, but not your credit card information.
IP Address
Room to Grow also collects your IP address when you visit the site. The IP address does not contain or reveal personal information such as your name, address, e-mail address, or phone number. Room to Grow receives IP addresses from all visitors to the site, because this information is automatically reported by your browser each time you view a web page. Room to Grow may use this information to estimate the total number of users visiting our website. This information is never used to track or monitor individual users.
Disclosure and Security of Information
We may share the personal information you provide us with outside contractors that provide us with specific products and services, such as newsletter mailing and database management, to be used for such purposes (e.g., we use Salesforce for customer relationship management and Constant Contact for email services). These contractors (which, under the GDPR, are data processors), are subject to our vendor approval process. They are obligated to protect your personal information. In the event of a sale, merger or consolidation or other transfer of all or substantially all our assets to a third party, we may transfer such information to such third party, provide such third party agrees to protect the confidentiality of this information, consistent with this Privacy Policy. Except as set forth above, Room to Grow will not share your personally identifiable information with any other organizations. We, or the third parties on our behalf, use commercially reasonable security measures to protect your personal information.
Updating, Deleting and Correcting Information
If you have previously provided us with your personal information, and you wish to change, update or inquire about such information, or be removed from our informational mailing for either our New York or Boston site, please contact Room to Grow by email at infony@roomtogrow.org or postal mail at Room to Grow National, Inc., 424 East 147th Street, Floor 5, Bronx, NY 10455 or by phone at 212.620.7800. Please note that while we will remove your personal information from our databases, some residual information may remain on backup media, and we are unable to delete information from third-party databases. While your choice to remove yourself from our mailing list may limit your ability to receive information about our events and activities, it will not prevent you from requesting information from Room to Grow by other means.
