Shelby Distenfeld Chapman is the Senior Manager of Family Support with Room to Grow Boston. Prior to joining Room to Grow in September 2018, she worked in New York at a child welfare organization partnering with families in an effort to help prevent foster care placement. Shelby feels strongly about the importance of building a secure foundation for babies and families and brings this passion to her work with Room to Grow families. Outside of work, she has volunteered with various food banks to distribute food to families facing food insecurity around Boston and New York City. Shelby is also an avid reader, runner, and enjoys working on crossword puzzles. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Development from Cornell University and a Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University.
