Luz Torres spent the majority of her childhood in her native country, the Dominican Republic, and then immigrated to the United States at age 11. The assimilation of different cultures launched cultural interest in learning about social issues. Luz studied at the State University of New York at New Paltz and received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Spanish in December 2022. During her time in university, she dedicated herself to being part of social clubs and organizations that allowed her to broaden her interests and learn through community and cultural service. Luz spends most of her free time traveling and loves meeting new people and horizons.
