Annie Knickman Plancher is the Vice President of Grantmaking and Portfolio Management at CJP, where she leads the organization's grantmaking strategy and approach, and oversees a team of grantmakers working with community partners in Greater Boston and beyond. Previously, she was the Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at Social Finance, an impact investing and advisory nonprofit, where she led the organization’s efforts around strategy, business planning, growth evolution, as well as cultivating a community of funding and programmatic partners.
Prior to these roles, Annie was a management consultant at McKinsey and Company, where she worked with education organizations and healthcare companies on strategy, organization design, and operational effectiveness. She also led the "Strategic Planning 101" program, a partnership with The Robinhood Foundation to support New York City-based nonprofits with strategic and growth planning efforts. In her last two years at McKinsey, Annie launched Generation, a nonprofit incubated out of the firm focused on supporting people to build skills and access high-quality careers. She led the design and launch of the organization's first programs across the US, Mexico, India, Kenya, and Spain, and built the organization's operational infrastructure.
Annie has a Doctorate in Education Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she studied funding flows in U.S. K-12 education, outcomes-based funding opportunities, and innovative ways to link K-12 education with postsecondary and career opportunities. She graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College, where she studied psychology and economics.
