Amanda serves as a 2nd Hour Family Support Associate at Room to Grow. With a comprehensive background in both clinical and community settings, she brings a wealth of experience to the role. Before joining Room to Grow, Amanda worked as a Bilingual HelpLine Counselor at Health Care For All, managing both Spanish and English phone lines. Amanda continues to work per diem as a medical interpreter.
Amanda double majored in Cognitive Brain Science and Child Development, and minored in Spanish. Her professional journey includes roles as a Residential Counselor and Mental Health Specialist with organizations such as Cambridge Eating Disorder Center, McLean Hospital, and Franciscan Children's Hospital. In these capacities, she supported both inpatient and residential treatment programs for children and adults in need of mental health care.
Amanda was selected to be a member of the 2024 Health Equity GenUnity cohort and continues to be an active participant in their programming. Additionally, Amanda has volunteered for the National Suicide Hotline, providing critical support through calls and texts. Her extensive experience in behavioral health has fueled her passion for advocating for language access, healthcare accessibility and affordability, and early intervention with a multigenerational approach.
