This year’s Hispanic Heritage Month theme–Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together–deeply resonates with our mission of supporting families to shape the future of their children. Room to Grow is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, and just as this month highlights innovation, resilience, and unity, we strive to foster these same values in the families we partner with.

Shaping the Future Together

Room to Grow is committed to shaping the future by ensuring that families have the resources they need to support their caretaking journeys during their children’s most critical years of growth. For many Latino/Hispanic families in our program, representation and access to culturally relevant resources play a pivotal role in this journey.

Our unique program structure centers the parent’s and caregiver’s voices, ensuring that our team can support each family’s well-being and development in culturally-informed ways specific to each family. This is particularly important when we consider that: 

  • 29% of the families in our program identify as Latino/Hispanic

  • 28% of the families in our program participate exclusively in Spanish

  • 22% of the families in our program participate bilingually in Spanish and English

By providing access to items such as Spanish-language books and culturally meaningful toys, parents can celebrate their heritage while raising the next generation to be confident, curious, and proud of their identities.

How You Can Be a Pioneer of Change

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are asking for donations of Spanish-language books and culturally relevant toys to support the growing number of Latino/Hispanic families in our program. These resources are essential in promoting literacy, creativity, and a deep connection to their heritage, while also encouraging bilingualism and early cognitive development.
