Room to Grow is excited to share that we have been awarded a three-year, $150,000 grant from Boston Children’s Collaboration for Community Health for efforts in the Boston region.

The grant to Room to Grow is part of Boston Children’s Hospital’s total commitment of $53.4 million to support community organizations and agencies in their efforts to improve the health and well-being of children and families in Boston and across Massachusetts. Boston Children’s is distributing these funds as part of an agreement with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Determination of Need Program.

Through our unique, two-generation program for families in under-resourced communities with children (ages newborn to three), we support early child development, parenting support, and overall family well-being. With Room to Grow Boston at maximum capacity, the goal of this grant is to scale our work to better meet the needs of our community by expanding our capacity from approximately 600 families in Boston today to 1,100 families by 2024 so more children in low-income circumstances will thrive.

We have long recognized that one of the best ways for Boston Children’s to make a difference is to partner with others in the community. The Collaboration provides organizations with funding so they can establish the infrastructure needed to grow and lead or strengthen their connections with partners to create more efficient systems of care and support.

Through this mission-aligned partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital, Room to Grow is well positioned to expand the program, build strategic partnerships with peer organizations, and sustain operations now and into the future.
