James has worked at Sankaty Advisors since 2005 and is a member of Sankaty's Middle Market Group. Prior to his employment at Sankaty Advisors, James was a manager at Bain & Company, where he led case teams in the firm's Private Equity Practice. James received a B.S. from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Robert Baldassarre
Managing Director
KPMG, LLP

Robert leads KPMG’s Economic and Valuation Services practice, based in Boston. Robert has over 15 years of experience in economic analysis and consulting. Prior to joining KPMG, he served as an internal management consultant in logistics and operations research at Compaq. He also held positions as an Economist and Forecast Manager at DRI/Standard & Poor’s, and in the public sector as a development economist for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Affairs under Governor William Weld. He began his career as a Budget Policy Analyst for the Massachusetts Legislature.


In addition to his position on Room to Grow's Advisory Board, Robert is also on the Board of Directors for Riverside Community Care. Robert received his B.A. in International Relations and Economics from Boston University and an M.B.A. in Finance and Economics from Boston University's School of Management.

Jeffrey Bellows, Chair

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts

Jeff leads corporate citizenship activities at Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA and also serves as an Adjunct Professor for Public Affairs at Emerson College. Prior to working at BCBSMA, Jeff was Managing Director of the Boston Practice/Global Public Relations & Marketing at Resources Global Professionals. He was also Vice President and acting Senior Vice President of Marketing at United Way of Massachusetts Bay & Merrimack Valley. Jeff earned his B.S. in Marketing from Boston College and his Masters in Political Communications from Emerson College.

Ennio Carboni

Ennio Carboni is an expert in accelerating company growth and strengthening market leadership by helping customers around the world take what is complex about IT and make it simple.

Most recently, Carboni was Executive Vice President, Customer Solutions at Ipswitch. Prior to that, he was President of the Ipswitch Network Management Division where he was responsible for strategic direction and management of the business and led the division to 300% revenue growth. Prior to Ipswitch, he held leadership positions at CA, IMlogic (acquired by Symantec) and RSA Security where he led product development for the company’s most innovative Internet security solutions.

A mentor for Northeastern University Health Sciences Entrepreneur Incubator, Carboni holds an MS in Criminology and an MBA in Business Administration from Northeastern University.

Peter is a Senior Vice President of CBRE/New England. He has advised and implemented transactions for corporations and landlords in the Downtown Boston Office market. Peter's ability to devise creative real estate solutions and provide expert advice during transaction negotiations coupled with his understanding of client requirements has been instrumental in the successful completion of numerous transactions throughout Boston.

Sarah D. Greenhill

Sarah is a former Senior Investment Associate at the MIT Investment Management Company. Prior to her work at MIT, Sarah was an Associate at New Mountain Capital, a private equity firm, and an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division at Merrill Lynch. Sarah graduated summa cum laude and phi beta kappa from Princeton University with an A.B. in economics and received an M.B.A from the Harvard Business School.

Anne Hildreth is responsible for Fiduciary Administration, the Philanthropic Services Group and the Charitable Gift Fund within the Philanthropic Solutions Group. With over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry focused on high net worth philanthropic solutions, Ms. Hildreth's insight and leadership supports our goal of successfully driving client satisfaction and delivering superior philanthropic solutions. Ms. Hildreth is active in the Massachusetts charitable community, and is currently on the Advisory Board of FUEL Education and the Sudanese Education Fund. Ms. Hildreth is a graduate of Holy Cross College.

Jeff Hoffman

Jeff is the Senior Director, Digital for CVS Health. In this capacity, he is defining and helping to launch new and enhanced methods for consumers to leverage technology in managing their pharmacy and broader health care needs. Prior to this current role, Jeff led critical Strategy and Corporate Development initiatives at CVS Health with a focus on innovation within the changing health care space.


Before joining CVS Health, Jeff spent over a decade in strategy consulting – most recently with Monitor Group in Los Angeles – working with leading health care and consumer product companies on marketing, sales, and corporate strategy engagements.


Jeff received his MBA in Strategy and Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelors degree in Economics and Spanish from Tufts University.

Robert Lewis, Jr.

In 2009, Robert oversaw the transformation of the Boston Foundation’s new grant-making framework, called “Thriving People/Vibrant Places,” which seeks to have a profound impact on important areas of community life - including improvements in education; health; safe and vibrant neighborhoods; robust arts and cultural opportunities; and a regional economy that enables everyone to thrive. Robert is the chief architect of StreetSafe Boston, a Foundation initiative with the mission of reducing gun violence in the city and CHAMPS Boston, which promotes youth development through sports by training coaches, providing sports equipment, refurbishing fields and investing in youth sports programs throughout the city.


Robert is a founding board member of Youth Design and Board Chair of ABEKAM. He is on the boards of Year Up, Boston; New England Blacks in Philanthropy; Room to Grow; Big Sister’s Association; and Mt. Ida College Board of Trustees. Robert has been honored locally, regionally and nationally for his leadership in addressing urban issues. He is in three books: 10 Who Mentor: Inspiring Insights from Creative Legends by Denise Korn; People Who Dare by Katherine Martin; and Do More Than Give: The Six Practices of Donors Who Change the World by Leslie R. Crutchfield, John V. Kania and Mark R. Kramer.

Giselle Nelson

Giselle is currently an at-home mother to her one-year old daughter. Ms. Nelson holds Master's Degrees in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University, and a Master's in Education in the Mind, Brain, and Education from Harvard University. Ms. Nelson has developed and implemented anatomy, biology, and physiology curriculums at exclusive private schools in the Boston suburbs, and has a particular interest in brain development.

Allison Picott

Allison Picott is the co-founder and principal of Advancement Advisers, a Boston consulting firm serving non-profit organizations in the areas of fundraising, leadership development, and planning. Prior to launching Advancement Advisers in 2013, she worked as a consultant for The Wayland Group. Allison’s experience as a development professional also includes her work as a major gift officer at Phillips Academy, Walnut Hill School, and Boston College Law School.

Allison began her professional career as a law clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court and then as litigation associate for Nixon Peabody LLP and Prince Lobel and Tye LLP in Boston.

Allison is a graduate of Phillips Academy. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Trinity College (CT) and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Allison currently serves as a director of the Abbot Academy Association at Phillips Academy and as a board member of Women in Development of Greater Boston. In 1999, Allison was awarded Phillips Academy’s Distinguished Services Award in recognition of her many years of work as an alumni volunteer for Phillips Academy. She is the youngest graduate ever to receive this honor.

Allison resides in Concord, MA with her husband, Michael, and three step-children, Chloe, Noah and Sophie.

Nicole Pirani

Nicole is the owner and head floral designer for Blooms of Hope which she founded in 2007. Nicole has been a Room to Grow volunteer since 2004, was a member of the collection/program committee in 2009-2011, and was persuaded to join the development committee in 2011. Nicole previously was a science teacher for elementary through adult education programs. Nicole lives in Belmont with her husband, Kevin and two children, Mae and Al. Nicole has experience and skills in floral and event design, teaching/lecturing/public speaking and small fundraising events for various nonprofits.

Brooke Thurston

Brooke is Vice President of Media Relations at Steward Health Care. In her role, Brooke serves as media spokeswoman for the hospital chain in Massachusetts. Formerly, Brooke lead the Boston office of VOX Global, a strategic communications and public affairs firm. She has also previously worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Representative John F. Tierney as his press secretary. In addition to her position on Room to Grow's advisory board, Brooke serves on the Colby College Alumni Council and Boston Liaison Board of the Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement at Colby College.
