Summer Administrative Intern
This internship offers meaningful experience and hands-on training in non-profit management. Our goal is to provide broad-based exposure across all functions of the organization including volunteer management, event coordination, inventory management, office administration, development, marketing, and special projects. We are looking for a responsible, efficient team member who is excited about helping Room to Grow fulfill its mission.


Room to Grow seeks an intern who is interested in non-profit management, fundraising, program operations, and early childhood development.  The intern would support the staff of Room to Grow in a variety of capacities.

Duties would include (but not be limited to):
• Database Management
• Development projects including assisting with appeal mailings and prospect research
• Inventory Tracking
• Special Event Coordination
• Marketing and Communications, including Social Media
• General Programmatic Support


Time Commitment:
• Minimum 6 hours a week, consisting of a regular schedule of 1 or 2 days or half-days a week

Program Associate
The Program Associate provides administrative support to the Executive Director and helps to manage the day-to-day administrative and operational functioning of Room to Grow's office and program. This position reports to the Executive Director.


Responsibilities
1. Greet and welcome clients and visitors including answering and routing all incoming calls and reflecting the organizations value of customer service.
2. Manage office resources including computer systems, office equipment, databases, spreadsheets, supplies and files.
3. Provide support for the organization’s financial systems:
•  Collect and track organizational expenses/ revenue
4. Facilitate submission of expense/ revenue documentation to accountant
5. Process bi-monthly payroll
• Manage the system used to track the organization’s activities with clients, in-kind donors, and volunteers:
6. Manage databases
• Generate in-kind donor acknowledgements and other external correspondence
7. Provide HR support for the organization:
• Manage benefit enrollment, changes and renewals
• Track staff time off
• Participate in intern recruitment and training
8. Provide support for the development and implementation of measurement strategies. Assist in gathering program data, conducting analysis, researching relevant field studies and communicating findings to a variety of audiences.
• Track administration of client surveys
• Compile survey data and conduct initial analysis
• Incorporate relevant data into program materials
9. Provide support for special events and participate in opportunities to increase public awareness of the organization’s mission, outcomes and needs
10. Assist in maintaining the quality of presentation and organization of the program space including supervising volunteers and sorting donated inventory.
11. Complete other tasks as determined by Executive Director.
12. Some evenings and weekends required.


Qualifications
Bachelor of Arts degree and at least two years work experience required; excellent written, verbal and organizational skills; strong attention to detail; exceptional interpersonal skills; familiarity with computer programs such as MS Office, Salesforce, and Adobe CS. Bi-lingual Spanish speaking preferred.

Winter - Spring | 2014
Room to Grow Development Intern

Room to Grow seeks an intern interested in pursuing a career in nonprofit management. This intern will work directly with the CEO, assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks and special projects related to Room to Grow’s national expansion. The ideal candidate is extremely well organized, detail-oriented and enthusiastic.

Requirements:
•  Interest in nonprofit management, programmatic operations and early childhood development
•    Strong writing and computer skills
•    Experience using Microsoft Office on a Mac-based system
•    Excellent time management skills
•  The ability to work independently, producing quality work while communicating with the CEO via email

Time Commitment:
•    Regular schedule of 2-3 days a week
•     Approximately 16 – 24 hours a week


Room to Grow is committed to providing interns with a meaningful experience and hands-on training that will provide a foundation for the intern’s future nonprofit career. All internships are unpaid. Interns are encouraged to seek course credit for this experience. This position is available immediately with potential to continue beyond fall 2013.

Spring | 2014
Young Professional's Leadership Council
Room to Grow seeks energized volunteers interested in being public ambassadors for the organization and who will actively participate in fundraising activities.

Room to Grow will launch its first young professional's leadership council this spring. Committee members will organize fundraising activities and events, introduce the organization to new prospective donors and identify new fundraising opportunities. All members are expected to make a financial contribution to the organization. The committee will meet four times a year, with regular contact and interaction with the Executive Director and Development Director at Room to Grow.
