Room to Grow Hosting Pajama Drive in February and March
Help Room to Grow promote safe sleep by donating new and nearly new infant and toddler sleepwear. Every three months from the third trimester of pregnancy until the child turns three, families raising their babies in poverty visit Room to Grow and meet with our staff social workers. In addition to receiving individualized parent education, support, and the tools and resources to give their children the best possible start in their critical first three years of development, parents receive the materials they need to bond with their babies and establish nurturing bedtime routines. Children receive pajamas at every visit, so the need for pajamas that fit properly and are appropriate for each season is great.
The rate of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is 3x higher in lower-income communities. With parenting education and materials goods, we are addressing that issue. As a result, 96% of families in Room to Grow's program report practicing safe sleep habits which includes having snug-fitting pajamas and sleep sacks to ensure infants and toddlers are safe while they sleep. Please consider donating new or nearly new sleepwear in February and March (sizes infant to 5T) or holding a drive at your office or school.
